LISA 2020 Symposium

The LISA 2020 Global Network encourages stat labs to improve their operations by adapting best practices learned from one another. To encourage interaction between stat labs, the network hosts semi-monthly LISA 2020 Global Network Zoom meetings that are held on the first Thursday of each month at 14:00 UTC and the third Wednesday of each month at 15:00 UTC. Additionally, the network gathers annually for symposia with invited talks, workshops, and networking events. The symposium is often held as a pre-event to the International Statistical Institute’s World Statistics Congress.

The network has hosted 3 symposia so far and the fourth will be held this year:

  • 2018: The first symposium was held in Marrakech, Morocco in conjunction with the International Statistical Institute's (ISI) 61st World Statistics Congress (WSC)

  • 2019: The second symposium was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in conjunction with the 62nd ISI WSC.

  • 2020-2021: The third symposium was held as a hybrid event with remote plenary sessions hosted via Zoom with several locally organized in-person events.

  • 2022: The fourth symposium was held at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana.
