The LISA 2020 Global Network encourages stat labs to improve their operations by adapting best practices learned from one another. To encourage interaction between stat labs, the network hosts semi-monthly LISA 2020 Global Network Zoom meetings that are held on the first Thursday of each month at 14:00 UTC and the third Wednesday of each month at 15:00 UTC. Additionally, the network gathers annually for symposia with invited talks, workshops, and networking events. The symposium is often held as a pre-event to the International Statistical Institute’s World Statistics Congress.
The network has hosted 3 symposia so far and the fourth will be held this year:
2018: The first symposium was held in Marrakech, Morocco in conjunction with the International Statistical Institute's (ISI) 61st World Statistics Congress (WSC)
2019: The second symposium was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in conjunction with the 62nd ISI WSC.
2020-2021: The third symposium was held as a hybrid event with remote plenary sessions hosted via Zoom with several locally organized in-person events.
2022: The fourth symposium was held at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana.
